Yay for 'Merica!

It's a tradition of mine to watch this video every year around this time. Why? Because it's one of the greatest speeches in movie history. And, well, it's Independence Day.

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!

  1. I am so excited for Guardians of the Galaxy! And I am actually very happy that American Gods is getting the TV treatment on a non-cable network. Hopefully it can more true to the story that way!
Also, adore those Mass Effect posters. You always have the coolest art to check out! :D

  3. There was an HBO version of American Gods in the work at one point, but that fell through. I think Bryan Fuller's an amazing choice to helm it—visually, he has one of the most unique minds in TV these days.

And thanks! I'm so glad you enjoy what I find to share. :)

  4. lies! no art can make the prequels seem interesting!
mandy... hold me like you did by the lake at naboo.

on the other hand that pheonix art. wowzers.
and i'm pretty excited to hear about a tomb raider book. it combines some of my favorite things- reading, gaming and ladies who kick ass.

they ended up offering 4 of the sw hoodie designs and realized that i can either afford a new bra or a bad ass boba fett hoodie... and that is a legit problem.

thanks for posting the link to the GotG spotify soundtrack! my kids have been singing "ooga chaka" since the first commercial hit and now i can help them learn that it has other words.

  6. Believe me, Rebecca. I wish I could just wish away my feelings, but I can't.

  10. Small people and book club reading makes me very, very late to comment. Good grief....

    1) Sherlock! ...that is all. (I don't squee in public, Mandy. I just don't.... /Cough.)

    2) Fuller. American Gods. I can be completely on board with this. (Part of me wishes, upon a very birght star, that They would just leave my favourite books alone. Sometimes They do a great job, but I always get a little antsy.)

    3) JLH on Criminal Minds. I honestly don't know how to feel about this. I'll give it a shot, but the show, as a whole, has been disappointing to me for a while now, so it might be time to walk away anyway (not because of JLH. She might be awesome).

    4) The Jebedai Couture art is amazing!

  11. No worries, lady! Late comments put a smile on my face just as much as on-time ones.

I, too, have kept up with Criminal Minds because I feel like I have to. I can't see that JLH will make it much better—or worse. But I could be wrong ...
