So, recently, Colt and I were a little crazy and did something a whole lot adult: We bought a car! (Yay for 30 Before 30 progress!)
We've been talking about it for what seems like years. Our main concern was that we'd be trading in a fully paid-off car for one we'd have payments on. But with each passing repairing of this and replacing of that, I got less and less wary of having car payments. I just wanted something that worked, and did so reliably.
We discussed a variety of vehicles—taking into account that we needed something with much better gas mileage and the room for the eventual expansion of the Murtis. (Which is still many years down the road; don't get excited.) We thought about the Chevy Cruze, the Ford Focus, the Mazda 3 ... all sedans with good gas mileage and room to grow.
I, however, don't really like cars. I'm just so used to driving SUVs, and I hate the feeling of being "in" the road. But most SUVs get terrible gas mileage, so we weren't going to bother even checking this style of car out. We were sticking with the idea of a sedan.
Although ... every time I saw this commercial, I couldn't help but think about how cool it would be to have a Mini ...
Long story a little shorter—we didn't end up sticking with the idea of a sedan.
I'd like you to meet Winnie "The Mini" Cooper:
I know, right? Sporty yet economical. Small yet surprisingly roomy. Full of ridiculous bells and whistles—including LED lights above the dash and in the door handles that can be any color in the rainbow, hands-free bluetooth calling and two sunroofs—that we're still discovering. She's a blast to drive, and I feel like she was meant to be a part of our family. (While we were test driving, the station the radio happened to be on even played one of Colt and my songs. It's kismet.)
Pic spam time!
Come for a visit! We'll take you for a ride.
