… and C&CC is going to go through some changes with it.
This post might be a little TL;DR for some folks, but I do hope that you’ll at least skim the surface of what I have to say.
A few months ago, I took on contributor duties on another site. It’s been absolutely fantastic, writing and reading for Forever Young Adult, but with any new project can come unforeseen consequences. The consequences, in this instance, have been that as I take on more and more at FYA, I seem to be devoting less time to making C&CC the fun and engaging place I want it to be. I’ve still been posting five times a week … but those posts often feel flat to me. Which, I’m assuming, also make them less interesting for you.
Before you ask—No, I am not quitting either project. This isn’t a goodbye post. It’s merely me wanting to be open and transparent with you, in the hopes that as I make some changes around these parts, you’ll stick with me.
First off: You’ve probably noticed that today is Tuesday, which normally means an obsessed. post. To be totally honest, this post is one that’s given me the most grief as of late. There are some weeks during which I’m just not that interested in something new/exciting. And I don’t want to force it. So, henceforth, obsessed. posts will come when I’m actually obsessed with something, and they’ll not always appear on Tuesdays.
Second: Until I can figure out a way to make everything work—and get to sleep before midnight—I will not be posting five times a week. I hate to make this call, more for the promise I made myself when I started this blog three+ years ago than for anything. But nearly 850 posts later, I need to allow myself a little bit of leeway. This reduction of the number of posts will, hopefully, allow me more time to create posts that are more interesting and more fun. (I’m going for a quality over quantity thing, here.)
Third: The rest of this month is going to be a little unusual. Later this month, the Mister and I are going on vacation, and I’ve asked some of my friends to craft guest posts to keep you company. The ones I’ve read so far are awesome, and I can’t wait to share them with you. I’ll still be posting, off and on, throughout the rest of the month.
I hope that taking a bit of a break from our regularly scheduled programming will give me the brain space I need to figure out how to make everything work. I adore you guys, and I definitely don’t want to give up this awesome thing you’ve helped me to build.
If you have any thoughts or ideas, on anything, really—I’d love to hear them. If you don’t feel comfortable leaving a comment, you can always email me at email@example.com.
And seriously—you guys are the best. Thank you for allowing me to share a little bit of this nerdy world o’mine with you.
