Vol. 3, Issue 48

It's the last NN before Christmas! Can you believe it?!

In TV news:

Here's a new "prequel" for the Doctor Who Christmas Special: Vastra Investigates.

The BBC has released a set of Doctor Who promo "Christmas cards."

This one, although it's not BBC-sanctioned, is equally groan-worthy awesome. (Thanks, Rebecca!)

And this card isn't Who at all, but I still love it. (Thanks, Adam!)

What would it look like if The Walking Dead was a Disney cartoon? Possibly something like this:

Threadless has released a new line of Toy Story-inspired tees. (Click the link for more.)

Even though Pacific Rim looks great on it's own, this pushes it over the edge.

In gaming news, from TGG:

And here's a mashup trailer of many of the video games released in 2012.

If S.H.I.E.L.D. had existed in the 20's ...

My favorite of these "House" banners is the Superman one, surprisingly. (There are a lot more at the link below.)

In SCIENCE! and tech news, from The Mister:

I found a couple of items, too:

These book sculptures are super cool.

  4. just from the pictures the first thing i thought last week about the new TARDIS console was- is the doctor taking up archery? is he having a go at darts? WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TARGETS HANGING AROUND THE ROOM!??! also, it feels kinda cold. not as homey and loved as the 2 previous. but it does remind me of the original consoles when who first started.

maybe it's just be but i hate book sculptures. i mean they're really beautiful and all but it just seems like it's defacing the books.

i love that lat piece of art with han and chewie. it's so gorgeous.

    1. Hahaha, I'm not sure I like the new control room much. I definitely agree that it's cold.

And I get what you mean about the sculptures. I struggle with the idea. But at least they're making art our of it rather than just destroying them?
