Happy Tuesday, TV fans!
Tonight's premieres include:
NCIS 7–8 p.m. (CBS)
Supposedly, this is one of the top shows on TV. Other than myself and my parents, however, I don't know that many people that actually watch it. I don't know why—it's entertaining and smart and one of those crime-ish dramas that I seem to love so much. I really enjoy the dynamics of the NCIS cast, too, so I'll keep watching.
The New Girl 7–7:30 p.m. and 8–8:30 p.m. (FOX)
I definitely think that this show was one of the stand-outs of the 2011 season. Awkward, sweet and totally hilarious; I could do without as much Zooey Deschanel, but the three guys—particularly Schmidt—are the absolute best. I know there are certainly more crazy hijinks in store for us during the second season. (Note: There are two episodes airing tonight, but the regular time slot is, I believe, the 8–8:30 p.m. one.)
NCIS: LA 8–9 p.m. (CBS)
This is one of those shows that I watch when I'm all caught up with everything else. It's not great, but it's not terrible. I'm somewhat curious to find out more about Callen's background, I enjoy the dynamic between Deeks and Kensi, and Eric and Nell are super cute nerds.
The Mindy Project 8:30–9 p.m. (FOX)
The Mindy Project follows a woman who, despite having a successful career, is unlucky in love and desperately needs to get her personal life back on track before her friends and colleagues are forced to stage an intervention. (via)Trailer
I hope the show—which sounds an awful lot like Bridget Jones—focuses less on the quirks of the character (à la New Girl) and more on her abilities as a smart, funny woman. (Not that I mind the occasional bit of Bridget Jones, of course, but I feel like that schtick might get old in a TV format.) And, Mindy Kaling is on the writing staff, need I really say more?
What will you be watching/recording tonight?
