obsessed.: Drop Dead Diva

Colt and I recently restarted our Netflix account, thanks, in part, to the distinct lack of new TV airing during the summer. Although the number and variety of movies available through the service is still severely lacking, it does have a good amount of TV shows to catch up on. One of which happens to be Drop Dead Diva ... and I've gone through all three seasons in about a week.

Drop Dead Diva is a show about a superficial skinny model who dies, but whose soul returns to Earth in the body of a plus-size, brainy lawyer. The show's pretty ridiculous, and I'm not sure how much I actually like it, but it's been entertaining enough to keep me watching. (I watched the first few episodes of the current, fourth season on demand over the weekend, so now I'm caught up completely.)

Anyone else watch the show? If so, whose "team" are you on—Owen or Grayson? I can't quite decide.

Also—any tips for something good to watch on Netflix now that I'm done with this show? Perhaps something that Colt and I can both enjoy? (He thinks DDD is utterly ridiculous.)

    2. My bf and I love New Girl. He would get upset if I tried watching it without him. Its amusing but there is only 1 season. Its on Hulu.
During the summer I always look forward to Masterchef. I'm always impressed by what some of the people come up with. I also love Gordon Ramsey :)

    3. Yes! New Girl is hilarious. Colt and I both love it. And I've never gotten into cooking shows, although Top Chef tempted me once. I'll have to check out Masterchef. :)

  4. Breaking Bad! If you spend like, the next 3 days of your life watching it from the beginning, you can maybe get caught up before Sunday night's premiere of Season 5.

  5. this is a great coincidence cause i was just telling samar literally last night that i was in love with a totally horrible show. much in the vein of 'the nine lives of chloe king' i have started watching the delightfully terrible, australian import 'h2o: just add water'. it's about 3 high school aged girls that turn into mermaids anytime any sort of liquid touches their skin. each episode is only 24minutes on netflix. i watched like 6 episodes this morning (micah got up at 5am so i had a lot of free time on my hands and it's a lot less scare inducing for the baby than supernatural) colt would flat out hate it, but it's fascinatingly bad. on the other hand for shows you could both enjoy, check out pretty much any of the ted talks- there is always something nerdy and fun to learn (i like the 'chew on this' food talks). the show 'the guild' with felicia day, 'spaced' with simon pegg, or the america or brit versions of 'being human' ")

    1. I've seen that show, haha! And love the Guild! We actually own Spaced and have watched both Being Humans, haha. ;)

      You obviously have good taste.

  6. I'm currently obsessed with Whale Wars. I've watched 2 1/2 season in the last week or so. The only thing I don't like about Netflix is that they're always a season (or more) behind.

    1. Yeah, that's a definite bummer. And the fact that there's like no new big-budget movies.
