Nerd News: New Avengers trailer, Nathan Fillion being awesome, Star Trek 2 and more

Vol. 3, Issue 9

Today's big news, of course, is the release of the latest Avengers trailer. Which, of course, is below.

If for any reason the above video stops working, you can also view it here.

Even with my reservations about the second season, this is a great poster.

Alice X. Zhang's art is so cool. Seriously, click the via below. There's just so much to look at.

The awesome mashups continue.

Aw-dorable. (Thanks, Emily!)

You all know how I feel about minimalist art, but these are a little too minimalist.

(via)

Ah, that's better.

(via)

I want to buy one of these for all my teacher friends and aquaintences.

NNGC Wes was on vacation this past weekend, so I've only got a little bit of gaming news:
A couple of trailers:

Mass Effect 3

(via)

Journey

(via)

Even heroes need a good scream now and then.

(via)

These are great illustrations.

(via)

I like this collection a lot, but The Nerdy Bird posted a great question about these polishes—where's the red?

(via)

In book news:

Oh Nathan, you so silly.

(via)

I've got a spare birdhouse sitting around ... I should do this.

(via)

I totally want this for our kitchen!

(via)

Zachary Levi just wants us be safe, guys.

This Disney Ladies from Last Night Tumblr is hilarious.

    1. also- watching the brave trailer with a 3 year old in the room was a horrible, horrible idea on my part. just spent the last 10 minutes listening to "but let's go see it now, mama"

and thank you for contributing to the ongoing love affair taking place with zachary levi in my mind.

  2. Cumberbatch as The Master?! Oh. Dear. God. *Who-Boner*
I know Bill Pullman is known for being presidential characters, or whatever, but since Torchwood, he will always be a creep to me. A creepy, older Christina-Ricci-in-Casper's dad. LOL
I like the idea of summing up an entire movie in one color (minimalist posters). Ha ha.
OMG I love the "You shall not pass" stamp! I seriously want every teacher in the world to use that! :D

    1. Since I found this rumor, I've heard the rumor that he won't be The Master, too. I prefer to hold tight to the initial thought.

I never finished Miracle Day ... shame on me.

  5. All the drama behind the production of "Elementary" and now Watson is female...and Lucy Liu?! Sometimes I wish I could ONLY watch British TV...

On the other hand...Britta as Bib Fortuna is HILARIOUS.

I'm so excited for Brave :)

  6. My 11yo son spent much of last summer playing WoW with his grandfather who lives 13 hours away. I'd wake up each morning and he'd be sitting at the computer with the headset on playing with Grandpa. I am actually looking forward to getting him back into that habit this summer. It was actually a great bonding experience for them both.
