Vol. 3, Issue 8

In movie news this week:

A couple of TV spots and a trailer:

The Hunger Games

I really like the viral/fake advertising marketing promotions for The Hunger Games, these animated posters included.

This poster of President Snow is pretty awesome too.

(via)

Ah, excellent. (Thank you, Rebecca, for posting the R2D2 on your Pinterest!)

(via)

Too many good things going on at once in this poster (click to embiggen)! (Thanks, Mariel!)

Poor Wampa. He's just so misunderstood!

(via)

AH-MAZING. (Thanks, Shaun!)

In TV news:

This week, on When Fandoms Collide ... (Thanks, Colt!)

This definitely begs the question ... who's going to go in that empty pane?

I like the infographic feel of these designs.

I can see Sheldon being OK with this adaptation.

Katie Cook seriously can. Do. No. Wrong. I'm still bummed about losing the tiny picture of Mollie she painted for me at SDCC '09.

SCIENCE! (And tech:)

Yet another great example of when sports meet pop culture: More nerdy hockey helmets. (Thanks, Shaun.)

I totally want a larger-than-life-size R2D2 to drive around! (Kudos to LucasArts for making this kid's wish come true.)

In game news (thanks again to NNGC Wes):

I keep getting more and more excited to play ME3!

I totally would have enjoyed playing Skyrim more had the sound effects been something like this.

Cats make everything cuter.

(via)

If Pokemon looked more like these Little Golden Book-style guys in actuality, I might like the whole phenomena more. (On second thought, no, no I wouldn't. But they're cute!)

(via)

Stunning.

(via)

I continue to be entertained by silly mashups such as these.

And finally, Poor Worf.

  1. The picture that's all Star Wars (I think it's just Star Wars lol) with the TARDIS stuck in there gave me an idea. They should make (maybe somebody has) Where's Waldo-type pictures but hiding the TARDIS instead. Hee hee. Because we all like to believe that if we look hard enough, we'll spot the TARDIS parked somewhere...

  2. i think my favorite thing about all those star wars posters is that they include a little symbol in the corner to show the allignment- it's such a little touch but shows the extra thought behind it. yeah, nerd art.

    2. I agree! I honestly hadn't really paid attention, but that's a great point.

And RIGHT? Ten mixing with the Winchesters gives me all sorts of thoughts ... some of them not so proper. ;)
