obsessed.: Holiday tunes

While around this time last year, I posted an obsessed. on a specific holiday album, I'd like to expand a little for today's post due to me feeling quite festive and enjoying a plethora of holiday tunes.

It's a little obvious to be obsessed. with Christmas music at, well, Christmas time, but you'll just have to indulge me. Here are a few of my favorite holiday albums from years gone by (and this is by no means a complete list):

(I have to listen to this one—on repeat—on Christmas morning or it's not Christmas morning. My dad used to blast it through the house as we were waking up.)

And I am particularly enjoying these new ones this year:

Did I include your favorite on this list? Is there something I've missed that I should be listening to?

  1. Emily made me a ska/punk Christmas mix like 8 years ago that we still listen to. Also I'm a big fan of the Bright Eyes Christmas album. It might be a little, shall we say, low key for your holiday tastes, but it has my all-time favorite Christmas song: The Bright Eyes version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

  2. I'm embarrassed to admit it but Robert Goulet and Bing Crosby are at the top of my Christmas listening list for the holidays.

  3. Oooh- I've got to check out The OC album!
Despite looking through HUNDREDS of Christmas albums in the iTunes store, I'm still discovering Christmas music here and there that I didn't get to in the iTunes list.
    So much!!!

  4. OHMYGLOB! I love Christmas time soooo much because I can bust out my Christmas Jamz. I end up making my own Christmas Mix and it mostly consists of classics. Personal Favorites:

    Donny Hathaway-This Christmas
    Spinal Tap-Christmas With the Devil
Cheech & Chong-Santa Claus and His Old Lady

  6. Thanks, Wes. And a little Bright Eyes never hurt anyone. ;)

DT-No embarrassment necessary! Classics are classic for a reason.

Tish-Definitely! Ron Sexsmith's "Maybe This Christmas" is one of my favorites.

Emilia-I'll have to check these out!

Elisse-Good call! Love that movie in general, haha. :)
