obsessed.: New Girl

I've been a fan of Zooey Deschanel's for a while now. She's gorgeous, talented and quirky, but all without seeming unapproachable. When I heard that she was going to be on a new show this fall, I was immediately intrigued. 5 episodes later and I'm totally smitten. New Girl is definitely my favorite new show of the 2011 fall season.

I mean, how can you not love a show about a dorky—yet adorable—girl who makes Lord of the Rings references? Plus—the humor is right up my alley. Half the things said on this show remind me of something I (or one of my friends) would say.

Here's a preview clip from tonight's Thanksgiving episode:

8 p.m. Central time, 9 p.m. everywhere else. You're welcome.

  2. It's the funniest show I've seen on tv in a long time. And I love the lovingly strange relationships they each have with each other.
And I always end up singing the theme song the rest of the night.
"Who's that girl? Who's that girl? It's Jess!"
    :)

  3. We tried. I liked coach and then he was gone.I normally like Zooey but in this case I just want to tell her to shut up. Not that they were in direct competition but I much more enjoy 2 Broke Girls.

  4. Glad you like it too, Samar and Tish!

DT-I've not seen 2 Broke Girls. Perhaps I will check it out. I just really enjoy the humor in New Girl ... which might say things about my sense of humor in general, haha!

  5. I've heard people describe this show as just ridiculous, and that's exactly why I love it. :)

  8. I like the show, especially Schmidt. I've never been a Zooey fan, but I think this show has a lot a potential. I think she could probably tone it down just a smidge, but a lot of the dialogue is laugh-out-loud funny.

  9. Schmidt is hilarious. I sometimes think he's more of a "nerd" than Jess!
