Nerd ink

I took the plunge on Saturday, friends, into a pool of nerdiness I can't easily extricate myself from. (Not that I would want to.)

I've been thinking about getting another tattoo for a while now. It's been nearly a year since I got the ones on my wrists—the whole "tattoos are addicting" theory is quite true for me.

I knew my next tattoo would be more prominent and larger than my other three, just because in thinking about what I wanted, I knew I wanted to make a statement. I wanted to shout, loud and proud: I'm a nerd!

I think this does the trick, don't you?

The moon, the TARDIS, the Millenium Falcon, the Enterprise D and various planets, cosmic entities and stars are all now prominently displayed on my right arm.

I am beyond excited about it, and—even though I know it's going to hurt like the dickens—am looking forward to getting it colored in. It's going to be quite pretty, with blues, greens, purples, yellows, oranges and greys. I'll post more pictures as it's completed, of course.

For fun, here's a somewhat drunk-looking picture of me from the day-of:

(If you're in the Austin area and are looking for an awesome tattoo artist, definitely get in touch with Megan at Bijou Studio.)
