Premiere Week 2011: Thursday

Premiering tonight:

The Big Bang Theory 7–8 p.m. (CBS) (Two new half-hour episodes.)

Welcome back to my favorite nerds on TV. Leonard can get on my nerves pretty often, but the rest of the boys (and Penny, Bernadette and Amy) make me smile.

Person of Interest 8–9 p.m. (CBS)

Mr. Finch (Michael Emerson), a mysterious billionaire, has developed a computer program that predicts the identity of people connected to violent crimes that will take place in the future. However, the program has its limitations: for example, it cannot predict whether the person will be a victim, perpetrator, or witness, nor can it predict when or where the crime will take place. Unable to stop the crimes on his own, Finch hires John Reese (Jim Caviezel), a former CIA agent who is presumed dead, to help stop the crimes from taking place. (via)
I like the idea of a Minority Report-esque pre crime computer in today's world. Also, since Bad Robot's producing and the show's based on a J. J. Abrams screenplay, I'm leaning toward this show being both excellent and excellently confusing.

The Mentalist 9–10 (CBS)

Goodness knows how Jane will get himself out of the pickle he's in now. And—spoiler alert—was that really Red John? Who will the Big Bad be now if he's truly gone?

  1. HECK YES!!! The Big Bang Theory!!! Jen and I cannot wait. We love that show so so so so much! <3

  2. My cell phone tells me tonight I'll be recording big bang theory and project runway. My wife tells me tonight I'll be doing laundry and packing.

  3. Angie-Yes, so good!

DT-I feel your pain. I actually haven't been able to watch more than half of the shows I've posted about this week as my husband's out of town for work and is "making" me wait.

  4. Leonard is kind of mean and whines a lot. I see your point. I'm still mad at the cast after SDCC, but I'll still be watching.

  5. Good for you, Jen. Give 'em another chance. :) (Except for Leonard, he can remain on the shit list.)

  6. so what you're saying is... you DONT watch Community? My heart is crying a little

  7. I know. I've heard good things, Rachel! I am borrowing the first two seasons from a friend and will probably find that I should have been watching all along.
