Premiere Week 2011: Monday

Welcome to the official Premiere Week 2011! A week filled with possible new obsessions, familiar friends and, in general, way too much TV.

As a reminder, all times are when the show airs in the Central time zone.

Premiering tonight:

How I Met Your Mother 8–9 p.m. (CBS)

HIMYM is entering its 7th season and while it's not the first show I'll select on my DVR, it's still entertaining. Colt and I missed a couple of episodes last year due to our DVR throwing fits, but I don't feel like I missed all that much. That might say something about my feelings for the show, or about the show in general. Nevertheless, I'll still tune in. Occasionally it can be downright hilarious.

Castle 9–10 p.m. (ABC)

Is Beckett OK? Will she remember that Castle expressed his love? What's all this ridiculous talk about a new love interest for Castle being introduced? Will Ryan and Esposito be as adorable as ever? (Natch.) So many questions after that intense season three finale! I can't wait to dive right in. This is, by far, one of my most favorite shows ever.

Hawaii 5-O 9–10 p.m. (CBS)

This was definitely one of the best shows to come out of last season. The cast works so well together, both when they're serious and in the lighter moments—Danny (Scott Caan) and Steve (Alex O'Loughlin) are the perfect odd couple. Kono (Grace Park) needs to eat a sandwich (or five), but she's got spunk. I look forward to seeing this show grow in its second season.

  1. Hopefully my DVR will survive Alphas, Warehouse 13, and Eureka all not having quite ended yet.

  2. Agh, you're so right. I've made myself a note to check mine tonight and adjust what I need to.

  3. The few episodes that I've caught of HIMYM and Castle have been good. Definitely two of the shows on my "to watch from the beginning" list.
Totally looking forward to Hawaii Five-0. LOVE that show!! Super excited about Terry O'Quinn (of LOST fame) joining the cast. :)

  4. One of my co-workers lives in Hawaii and has been on Hawaii 5-0 a couple times as an extra...I don't know if he had any speaking lines, but he's been in it. Didn't really know if the show was any good, but since you're saying it was I might have to give it a try.
