Renter's Delight: Color inspiration

One of the most exciting things about our new place—and I think I've mentioned this before—is the fact that we're allowed to paint the walls, provided we primer over any added color before we move out. When the lady who was showing us the example apartment said this, I'm pretty sure my face just lit up. And even if we hadn't liked the place as much as we did, I think this would have been one giant checkmark in the pros column. Now, I'm not going to go crazy. I know that this is a temporary place, and painting everything would be more hassle in the end than it's worth. I am looking forward to a few accent walls, however. "White," bare walls are one of the banes of my existence. I think Colt and I have agreed on a bedroom color, but the rest of the colors remain to be chosen. We need to go down to the paint store and have a look at the myriad of colors offered, and see how well the ones we like go together. Until then, I have to be content with hoarding pinning room inspiration photos to my Pinterest boards. (Which isn't a chore, mind you. I'm always up for inspiration.) These are a few of my favorites:

There are definitely some colors repeating themselves in these photos. I can't say for certain, but a few of these might pop up in the New Murtis.

  3. Ever since I was little I always associate color pairings with super heroes (or something similarly nerdy). You can ask Emily, whenever I see something primarily red and blue I comment that it's "Spider-Man Colored." I think this is why I'm a fan of a green/purple color combo.

  4. I totally get that, Wes. :) Certain colors are just ingrained in our brains.
