obsessed.: Spotify

I'm always on the lookout for new music, and Internet music streaming sites like Pandora are welcome tools when my iTunes playlist just isn't hitting the right notes (pun intended). However, when you find an artist you like, and want to hear more, Pandora isn't good about playing once specific artist, and you can only hear snippets on iTunes or Amazon. So where do you turn?

This great new web-based music service allows users to listen to entire albums, create playlists, send playlists or songs to friends, and more. I've barely started playing around with the program, but I've already found a  couple of new (to me) artists that I really enjoy. The free version comes with ads, of course, but they interject less often than those on Pandora, and you can load your own music in the player.

If it sounds like I'm getting paid to say these nice things, I promise I'm not. In order to get signed up, visit the website and input your email address. In a couple of days, you'll get a code which allows you to download the player.

If there's any excellent new (or new to you) music you've discovered recently that you think I should check out, let me know!

  1. I'm such a fan of Rdio and I've been telling people for months it's the same thing. Now that Spotify is here, I tried it and I liked it but overall I like Rdio's overall interface better. When you've used it more tell me how you've enjoyed it. I may or may not switch!

  2. I'm sorry I never checked out Rdio! I've been looking for something like this for a while now. :) I'll let you know how it goes.
