Vol. 2, Issue 29
In movie news this week:
- Lots of The Amazing Spider-Man stuff has been released this week. Here are some photos, more photos and a close-up of the Spidey suit's texture (thanks, Colt!). The trailer can be found below.
- Sean Bean has been cast in the other Snow White movie as Snow's dad.*
- Joe Johnston, the director of Captain America, among other things, is interested in making a Boba Fett movie.
- An Avengers teaser/trailer will be shown at the end of Captain America. (There are bootleg versions of this on the 'Net, as well as descriptions of the action, if you're so inclined to search it out.)
- This is a great look at all of the superhero movies most likely coming to a screen near you, eventually.
- The issue-plagued Dark Tower project has been canceled.
- Yes. There is a live-action Captain Planet movie in the works. (Thanks, Wes!)
- Two more photos of hobbits from The Hobbit have been released.
- Bruce Campbell will be in the Evil Dead reboot/remake.
- The graphic novel Bone will be made into a movie.

These Captain America posters by Olly Moss (Thanks, Shaun!), Tyler Stout and Eric Tan are so stylish.
This mashup of the three Nolan Batman posters is very well done.
And this real-life Batmobile? Very well done. (Thanks, Colt!)
This is a movie/tv mashup I'd like to see more of.
Picasso totally should have paid more attention to pop culture. (Thanks, Mariel!)
In TV news:
- Hey Dude is now on DVD. You're welcome.
- Stannis, Melisandre and Davos have been cast for the second season of Game of Thrones.
- Meet Castle's new Captain.
- Here's a preview of The Walking Dead's season 2:
Speaking of, these posters are cool.
More shirts I'd like to own:
SCIENCE!
- Is Soylent Jello in our future?
- I've never known there was a need for female urinals ... but it kind of makes sense.
This is a very detailed Doctor Who "tube map."

While we're on the topic, this video (thanks, Colt!) is a great look at his many regenerations.
These video game book covers are quite well-designed. (Thanks, Wes!)
Hahaha.
Love these adorably emo friends. (I've posted this artist's Wonder Woman and Hulk before.)
The fifth season of The Guild starts July 26. (Thanks, Wes!) Here's a trailer:
And finally, it was only a matter of time.

So frustrated to see another spiderman origin story. I could maybe get behind it if the somehow link his parents being spies back to the Captain America movie or something but because it is sony I know that's not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love the Pokemon book.
All of this is AWESOME, but I especially love love love the little emo friends. SO CUTE!!! I want them on my wall, like, now.
ReplyDeleteThank you for doing this, M!!!
I absolutely the Batman poster mash-up. Bryan thinks that Christopher Nolan is one of the greatest directors/producers of our time, and I think I have to agree with him.
ReplyDeleteI think I might have to break down and buy Hey Dude. Definitely brings back memories. I so wanted to be Melody. :)
Also, I watched my first episode of Doctor Who tonight. ;)
DT-I think it's too soon, for sure. But you might be onto something with the spies storyline, or else I'm reading too much into the trailer.
ReplyDeleteAngie-You're so welcome! I'm glad you enjoy it.
Jen-Nolan is really quite the talent, for sure. And yay! Which Doctor did you start with?
ha! i love those travel posters! i never would have seen the tardis
