obsessed.: Glitter gradients

If you've been around for a while, you'll already know that I am a big fan of nail polish and that I am a big fan of things that sparkle. And when I run across a good, super sparkly nail polish, I'm just in heaven.

Last week, Colt was in a friend's wedding, and I wanted to come up with a pretty manicure to go along with the pretty dress I'd found on sale at J.C. Penney for 50% off. (I am also a very big fan of a good sale.)

I pulled out my go to tarty bright red, Rescue Beauty Lounge's Chinoise and a new favorite, OPI's Spark de Triomphe and had a little fun with an attempted glitter gradient.

It turned out looking very Wonder Woman-esque, which was a happy accident.

I was changing polish this weekend and thought, what about doing the gradient from the base of the nail rather than the tip? Et voilĂ :

A girl's gotta get fancy sometimes, right?

  2. I believe you have a better hand with the self-polishing than I do. You know what is great about glitter? It hides mistakes and makes your manicure last forever. I did a funky galaxy-type manicure for comic-con last year and the glitter on top made it stay all weekend. I was impressed.

I like all those colors, too! My nail polish seems to still be hidden from the move. I had to buy some new colors when I went on vacation this week!

  4. Blace-Thanks! And they're totally not perfect; the iPhone camera hides imperfections really well, haha! :)

Jen-I've gotten better at the self-manis recently. Practice—and warm water to get any stray bits off your fingers—really does make perfect. And glitter is awesome, yes, until you go to take it off!

Annika-Sure! Send me a ticket to London? ;)
