Haiku Revieu: Paul

Paul (****)

Little green-grey man
Great RV shenanigans
Yay Simon and Nick

I have been looking forward to seeing Paul since I first heard about it sometime last year; I love the combination of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and although I don't love Seth Rogan, I can make exceptions. The movie didn't disappoint. It was more, as a friend of mine put it, "Americanized" than Nick and Simon's other movies (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), but still retained some of the more intelligent humor I've come to expect from the two, intermixed with the poop jokes and quasi-vulgarity of Paul. (Who I actually really liked, surprisingly.)

Plus, the entire movie is an homage to the scifi genre, which, obviously, I am a fan of.

The only bad part of the movie? Yet more reminders that we're missing Comic Con this year. *sob*

  1. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I love Simon and Nick together and I was worried that this movie would disappoint but if you enjoyed it I might have to see it in the theater.

  2. Brandi-It was a different funny than their previous movies, but I laughed throughout all of it. And not because I thought I should either. ;)

  3. I just saw Paul last night and I thought it was great. I agree that it was a different humor than their other movies but still funny. Kristen Wiig was hilarious too!

Jen-You should. And yes, yes they are. Have you ever seen Hyperdrive? One of my absolute favorite things Nick's ever done.
