Nerd News: Hipster Trek, Nerdy Girls Need Love Too, X-Men: First Class and more

 Vol. 2, Issue 6

Thought I'd start things off today with this great song that's been making it's rounds on the Interwebs lately. It's totally fitting for this feature, and for this blog—and me—as a whole.

In movie news:
HOT OFF THE PRESSES:

As bad as this could be ... I am quite excited by this trailer.

There's a WoW theme park in the works? (A shoutout to Wes, who sent me this link. Although I already had it. He doesn't think he deserves this mention,  but I think he's wrong.)

I posted his Amy and River pieces last week, but here's Bill Mudron's take on Eleven:

I think it's my favorite of the set.

And if you're interested in more Who, on top of being totally cute, this infographic is super informative.

In TV news:

We have an 2 ft-tall AT-AT that lives in our kitchen. His name is Dog. Perhaps I should make him a costume, like these?

I love this, I think a little too much.

These wallpapers are awesome. I've got the Misfits one on my computer at work. (Surprise, surprise.)

And finally, I think anyone who grew up with Saved by The Bell needs one of these:

You're welcome.

  1. Oh, I love the idea of Sarah in an Avengers movie. I am so looking forward to First class. But your link to all the trailers showed during superbowl appears to be broken.

  2. I've JUST started watching Doctor Who (first two episodes so far) and I was going to ask "what/who is eleven?" when I saw the first picture, but then upon reading that big chart, I figured Eleven is what they call the Eleventh doctor?
Thanks for posting that chart, it was very informative. And yet very confusing. lol I'm sure once I watch more of it, I'll understand it all better.
I've never been into sci-fi stuff like Star Trek and shows like that, but this seems like a sci-fi kind of show I'll actually get into. I'm looking forward to David Tennant in season 2, I love him.

  3. H-Thanks! I got it sorted.

Tish-Haha, sorry for the confusion! I hope you are liking the Doctor. David's my favorite of the three most recent ones, but Matt Smith (Eleven) is almost too adorable for words.

    Jaza-Yay! :D

  9. I talked to hubby about Yvonne Strahovski as Ms. Marvel, and he agrees that she's a good actress for the job.

BTW, I'm headed to San Diego Comicon this year - got a 4-day pass. Are you going?

  10. Elisse-No. I am SO bummed. I've got a work thing that falls on the same weekend, and Colt won't have enough time off. So no Con for us this year.

It would have been fun to meet up. Darn it all. I hope you have a fantastic time, though. :)
