Nerd News: Awesome art, the Green Hornet, the Death Star and more

Vol. 1, Issue 5

I am in love with Rogan Josh's ModHero posters. I want them all. It would be amazing to design a room around a set of these.

Mr. Hipp's art is also pretty dang awesome.

First I posted about James McAvoy playing Xavier in X-Men: First Class. Then I posted about Michael Fassbender possibly being cast as Eric/Magneto. Now I am posting about Benjamin Walker being cast as Beast. I have no idea who he is, but I figured I should keep up with the casting news. (Here's a question for you X-Fans. In X2, Hank McCoy is shown on screen in a TV in a bar as fully human. Then he shows up in X3 as Beast. Canon says that his mutation manifests in adolescence, so I'm guessing he'd be all Beasty in First Class. Is that whole "on TV, fully human" thing something we're just supposed to ignore, along with the fact that X3 was ever made?)

In other, I-don't-know-who-this-person-is-but-they're-in-something-I-like news: Charice is joining the Glee cast.

There are so many great comic books/graphic novels out there that I have not read. This makes me a bit sad. But then they go and make movies out of them, which, although they don't always do the books justice, brings the books to my attention. And this makes me glad. Speaking of such a thing, this trailer for Red looks pretty dang awesome. Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman as retired spies? Yes please.

Colt showed me this trailer the other day, for the Seth Rogan-helmed Green Hornet:
I know very little about the Green Hornet, but this looks entertaining.

The (soon-to-be) mister also showed me this, which is entertaining times a hundred:

Last week I posted the link to the 22 things that look like the Enterprise. This week, it's time for 17 things that look like the Death Star.

And speaking of the DS, want to blow up your neighborhood (virtually)? Adidas and Google Earth make it happen.

I'll leave you today with a little more nerdy art: The Doctors Hoo:
I found this on Twitter, and now I can't remember who posted it. But whoever did the illustration really did a spot-on job, as far as I know. I'm only really familiar with the last three.
